The Professional Flow

Step-by-step guide to a high-speed production workflow.

Card to Delivery

This is the recommended “Fovea Way” to process a high-volume shoot (like a wedding or commercial event) with maximum efficiency.

Phase 1: The Scene Cull

  1. Ingest: Drag your folder in and let Fovea’s background scanner handle the preview generation.
  2. Collapse: Toggle Scene View to clear the noise of bursts and duplicates.
  3. The First Pass: Use the arrow keys and 1-5 to rate your winners. Use X to reject obvious failures (blured/blinks).

Phase 2: Surgical Refinement

  1. Verify Focus: Filter for your 4-star and 5-star winners.
  2. Open Close-Ups: Use Cmd + P to quickly scan the eyes of everyone in your group shots.
  3. Check Shot List: Open Cmd + L to ensure you haven’t missed any required deliverables for the client.

Phase 3: The Grade

  1. Develop: Navigate to your first “Hero” shot in the Develop Module.
  2. Apply Foundation: Use the Film Lab to set the color tone (try adjusting Spectral Balance for a unique look).
  3. Refine: Use the Blade Sliders for exposure and contrast.
  4. Sync: Batch-apply these adjustments across the rest of the scene or shoot.

Phase 4: Export

  1. Prepare: Hit Cmd + E.
  2. Renaming: Use our Smart Renaming tokens to build professional file structures (e.g., Client_Date_Sequence).
  3. Deliver: Export directly to your delivery destination.
