Compare View
Compare View lets you place multiple photos side-by-side to evaluate the best shot in a burst or series.
Opening Compare View
- Select 2 or more photos in the grid (hold
⌘to multi-select). - Press
Cto enter Compare View.
Features
- Side-by-side layout — Selected photos are displayed horizontally, each taking equal width.
- Synchronized zoom — Pinch to zoom on any photo, and all photos zoom to the same level. This lets you check the same detail across multiple shots.
- Synchronized pan — Drag to pan, and all photos move together, keeping the same area in view.
- Tap to zoom — Click on a photo to quickly zoom in to 3x magnification centered on that point. Click again to zoom back out.
- Filename & rating — Each photo shows its filename and star rating at the bottom for quick reference.
- Active selection — Click on a photo to make it the active selection (highlighted with a blue border). You can then rate it using keyboard shortcuts.
Closing Compare View
Press C again or click the ✕ button in the top-right corner to return to the grid.
Tips
- Compare View is most powerful when checking focus across a burst — zoom into the eyes simultaneously across all candidates.
- Rate your preferred shot using number keys (
1–5) while in Compare View.
