Color Grading Wheels
Capture One-style color wheel for targeted color manipulation.
Color Grading Wheels
The Color Wheel Editor provides a Capture One-style interface for creating custom color regions and applying targeted adjustments.
How It Works
- Click on the color wheel to place a new color wedge at that hue.
- A wedge appears as a highlighted arc covering a range of the color spectrum.
- You can create up to 4 custom wedges at a time.
- Select a wedge to adjust its properties.
Wedge Controls
When a wedge is selected, you’ll see:
| Control | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Width | How broad the hue range is (narrow for precise targeting, wide for softer transitions) |
| Smooth | Feathering at the wedge edges for natural-looking transitions |
| H (Hue) | Shift the hue of colors within this wedge |
| S (Saturation) | Boost or reduce saturation within the wedge |
| L (Luminance) | Brighten or darken the targeted colors |
Tips
- Use a narrow wedge on skin tones (around orange/red) to fine-tune complexion without affecting the rest of the image.
- Create a wide wedge across blues to unify a sky’s color.
- Click the trash icon to delete the selected wedge.
- The wheel shows all active wedges as colored arcs, making it easy to visualize which parts of the spectrum are being adjusted.
