Exporting Photos
How to export your culled and edited photos from Fovea.
Exporting Photos
Open the Export dialog with ⌘ E or from the toolbar.
Scope
Choose which photos to export:
- Visible — All photos currently visible in the grid (respects active filters)
- Selected — Only the photos you’ve manually selected (highlighted in the grid)
- All — Every photo in the current import session
Action Modes
| Mode | Description |
|---|---|
| Copy | Copies photos to a new destination folder. Originals are untouched. |
| Export Edits | Exports developed versions of your photos with all Develop adjustments baked in. |
| Rename Originals | Renames the original files in-place. Use with caution — this modifies the source files directly. |
Naming Options
- Keep Original Filename — Exports with the camera’s original filename (e.g.,
DSC_1234.jpg). - Use Shot List Name — Renames files based on their assigned shot list category (e.g.,
First_Kiss_001.jpg). A preview of the naming pattern is shown before you export.
JPEG Quality
When exporting as Copy or Export Edits, you can select the JPEG quality level from the dropdown. Higher quality means larger file sizes.
Destination
Click “Choose Folder…” to select where your exported files will be saved. The selected path is shown in the export panel.
Running the Export
The Summary section shows the total number of photos to be exported. Click Export to begin. A progress bar displays the export status in real time.
