Rhythm and Speed

Fovea’s rating system is built for the “Home Row.” Your hands should never have to leave the keyboard to make a decision.

Essential Shortcuts

  • 1 - 5: Set Star Rating.
  • 0: Clear Rating.
  • Cmd + A: Select All.
  • Space: Toggle Loupe (Instant Zoom).
  • ← / →: Previous / Next Image.

✨ One-Click Auto Cull (Alpha)

In Fovea v1.7, you can bypass the manual “first pass” entirely. Click the Auto Cull button in the sidebar to have Fovea automatically score and rank your entire shoot using our local AI engine. It will assign 5, 4, and 3-star ratings to your best frames, giving you a professional baseline to refine from.

Auto-Advance

By default, Fovea can be set to “Auto-Advance” after a rating is applied. This creates a relentless momentum: navigate, rate, next—without a single manual click. This can be toggled in your Settings.

Smart Filtering

Once your ratings are applied, use the filter bar to isolate your winners.

  • Example: Filter for Rating >= 4 to see your highlights.
  • Example: Filter for Rating = 0 to see what still needs culling.
